MERRY MARRIED T&E Package – (Married with no Minor Children)
This package is designed specifically for a person who is legally married but DO NOT any minor child/children. Once you have this package and if and when you have a minor child, you can easily add on the document(s) listed under the “Future Documents” below to cover the needs of the Guardianship for the minor child in the future. This package includes the following documents:
Durable Power of Attorney (Assets) – allows you to appoint an authorized person (with backups) to manage your assets if you are incapacitated.
Health Care Directives – allows you to appoint an authorized person (with backups) to make decisions for you regarding your medical treatment and procedures if you are incapacitated and your spouse is also unavailable.
The Will – allows you to appoint an executor to manage your assets and beneficiaries to inherit your assets after your death. Note that your spouse will be by default your beneficiary, but you will be able to provide backup beneficiaries in the event of the death of your spouse.
POTENTIAL FUTURE DOCUMENT(S):
When and if you have a minor child in the future, please make sure to consider to do the following:
- Obtain Guardianship for Minors to allow you to appoint a Guardian (With backups) to take care of your minor child if you and your spouse are both incapacitated.
- Although SeedJura Guardianship for Minors also include languages to allow the Guardian to continue to take care of your minor child after your death (and your spouse’s death), it is recommended to update your Will to include such Guardianship appointment in the Will.
